Diego Costa finds new home in Brazilian league
Diego Costa, 34, the Spanish international striker who dominated the European scene in the mid-2010s, 토토 has found a new home in Brazilian professional soccer's Botafogo.
Botafogo announced on Wednesday (Sept. 13) that it has signed Costa as a free agent.
Costa, whose contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers of the English Premier League (EPL) expired in June, has signed a short-term, four-month contract with Botafogo.
Botafogo, who are currently leading the Brazilian Serie A, reached out to Costa, who had nowhere else to play after a sudden string of injuries to their forward line, including league leading scorer Thiago Soares.
Costa is a dual citizen, born in Brazil but playing for the Spanish national team.

Joining Botafogo appears to be the end of Costa's European career.
Costa was a prolific goal scorer in the 2010s, splitting time between Atletico Madrid (Spain) and Chelsea (England).
He scored 83 goals in 216 games for Atletico Madrid and 59 goals in 120 games for Chelsea in three seasons between 2014 and 2017.
He is also one of the few players to have avoided Chelsea's 'curse of the nine', 사설토토 a 20-year drought that began in 2004.
During this time, Chelsea struggled with a lack of frontline strikers, with only Costa and Didier Drogba (retired) being successful.
After a season with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in 2021, Costa returned to Europe when he joined Wolverhampton for the 2022-2023 season, but only scored one goal in the league.
Meanwhile, Adama Traore, 27, who was part of the "bull duo" at Wolverhampton alongside Hwang Hee-chan, has also left the club to join Fulham.
