Article 8 offer rejected → Man Utd bid withdrawn Qatari capital to Tottenham?...Sheikh Jassim names potential options
Qatar's Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Altini, who has withdrawn from the race to buy Manchester United, has raised the possibility of turning his attention to Tottenham Hotspur.
"Tottenham's takeover talks are swirling, making them an attractive option for investors, especially after their recent stellar start to the season under manager Enze Postecoglou," Football London reported on Friday.
"Spurs could be a new option as Sheikh Zayed, who until recently was said to have made five bids for United, has failed in his attempts to take control of Old Trafford. According to ESPN reporter Mark Ogden, Sheikh Jassim and his entourage have identified Spurs as a potential option."
Sheikh Jassim wanted to buy 100% of United: "Sheikh Jassim has put forward an all-cash bid to take 100% control of United and wipe out the club's debts, along with a promise to revamp Old Trafford and plans for community projects across Manchester," according to the Manchester Evening News.
"Sheikh Jassim held final discussions with the Glazer family over the past few days about a possible takeover, but was told that their offer, estimated at £5 billion, fell short of the Glazers' asking price," the publication explained.
However, the Glazers were quick to reject Sheikh Jassim's offer. "The Glazers believe United could soar to a valuation of £10 billion ($16.445 billion) in the coming years," the publication said. Ultimately, Sheikh Jassim pulled out of the deal after failing to narrow down his interests.
Ogden insists that Sheikh Jassim will continue to be interested in acquiring a Premier League (PL) club: "He wants a PL footprint. Someone told me recently that if Qatar doesn't buy Man Utd, they might end up buying Tottenham. He noted that Abu Dhabi owns Manchester City, Saudi Arabia owns Newcastle United, and if Qatar buys Tottenham, it will be a situation where three clubs can compete independently."
Sheikh Jassim isn't the only one interested in buying Tottenham. "MSP Sports Capital, which is chaired by American-Iranian billionaire Jam Najafi, has also been linked with a bid for Spurs, while legendary rapper Jay-Z has also been linked with a bid for the club," explains Football London. 온라인카지노
Tottenham is owned by a number of different individuals. "Chairman Daniel Levy, the most public figure in the current ownership group, holds less than 30% of ENIC's 86.85% stake," the publication said, noting that Tottenham has rejected offers for the club in the past.
"Over the years, many people have been interested in proposals, but there has never been a proposal. "We, as a board of directors, are the custodians of this club and we want to take it to another level. We want to take it to another level, and over the last 20 years we have invested heavily in capital projects and teams, and if someone feels they can take us to another level, we will look at that proposal."
Levy wants the club to move in the right direction: "I'm not interested in leaving Tottenham. "I'm not interested in leaving Tottenham, but if someone makes an offer, I have an obligation to consider it. It's not about me, it's about what's right for the club. We have 30,000 shareholders who own around 13.5%. We run this club like a public company. If someone wants to make a serious offer to the Tottenham board, we will consider it with our shareholders and if we feel it is in the best interests of the club, we will do whatever it takes."
